Toxic waste under UK flag heading for Thailand
NewsAn environmental watchdog has alerted authorities to an illegal consignment of poisonous industrial waste heading for a Thai port.
The corporatisation of Thailand’s two main ports, Bangkok and Laem Chabang, will be completed by the end of next year, according to Vichai Sangpraphai, new chairman of the Port Authority of Thailand (PAT). Under the plan, the two ports will be converted into corporations, with the government retaining a majority share.
