Fire breaks out at VCTPL
NewsA fire at Visakhapatnam Container Terminal originated from a container with lithium batteries and was quickly controlled with no injuries or major damage.
Concor has also suffered a blow at Paradip port in eastern India where the Shipping Ministry has reversed an earlier decision to hand over a berth to the government-owned company for container handling operations.
The decision was reversed mainly because of protests from private container handlers, who claimed the decision would work to their detriment because Concor could divert cargo to Paradip to beef up the business there at the expense of other container ports in the region.
