Southampton modal shift program helps boost container moves by rail
NewsMore containers are moving through Southampton’s Solent Rail Terminal, the integrated handling and maintenance facility at the South of England port, owned by DP World.
A plan to build a 4M TEU/year mega container terminal at India’s second-largest container port (see WorldCargo News August 2008, p7) would appear to have hit the rocks after none of the shortlisted bidders submitted a financial bid.
