New Mafi heavy tractor

News-in-print

Mafi Transport-Systeme GmbH has launched a new version of its 45t fifth wheel tractor aimed at heavy industrial applications, designated HD 445. The model, presented at the Transport Logistics Fair in Munich in May, is equipped with a Stage IV Volvo engine with an output range from 235 kW to 285 kW, and the latest ZF 6WG 310 automatic transmission with a gear warning system. GCW is up to 250t.

The spacious cabin is said to provide excellent visibility and is fitted with a clearly laid-out instrument panel with multifunctional display. The driver’s eye level is around 3.5m above ground level and the cabin is fully ROPS-tested. Fifth wheel elevation is over 1m, providing a maximum coupling height of 2.42m above ground. All service points are easy to access.

Like the earlier MT45, the new model is also suitable for very heavy ro-ro applications such as handling SECU boxes on/off ships, added Mafi.
