Liebherr Container Cranes Ltd has signed a contract for two post-Panamax cranes with the Port of Koper (Luka Koper), its first award in Slovenia. The cranes will be delivered in fully erect mode to the port from an assembly site in Italy.

Confirming earlier reports (WorldCargo News, August 2006, p1), property and infrastructure group Peel Holdings Ltd, owned by John Whittaker, has sold a 49% stake in its ports arm, to Rreef Infrastructure, part of Deutsche Asset Management (DAM), itself the global asset management service division of Deutsche Bank.

It is understood that straddle carrier “newcomer” Consens-Transport Systeme GmbH is to be sold at a public auction in Germany next month (December 4). The company is believed to be in a state of “preliminary insolvency,” but work on orders in hand, including straddle carriers for customers in the German sea ports and 20 Conspeeds for APM Terminals in Portsmouth, Virginia, is understood to be continuing.
