A Far Eastern ship classification society has made a bold move in worldwide efforts to eliminate old or sub-standard tonnage. Oceangoing bulk carriers, tankers, including products tankers, and chemical tankers of 20 years of age or more will no longer be accepted for classification by the Korean Register of Shipping (KR).
