Danube Logistics Srl, the general investor and operator of Giurgiulesti International Free Port (GIFP) on the Lower Danube – the only water outlet of landlocked Moldova, sandwiched between Romania (and the EU) and the Ukraine – is planning to expand the port’s annual container handling capacity from 30,000 TEU to 130,000 TEU.
