As of 1 July, a physical customs document will no longer be required to transfer containers between terminals on the Maasvlakte (I and II). APM Terminals, ECT and Rotterdam World Gateway are taking advantage of recent changes in European customs legislation, with the full support of the Dutch Tax and Customs Administration, VRC (Rotterdam Shipbrokers and Agents) and the port authority (HbR) to provide “paperless” container exchanges.
